Damian Lillard Buzzer Beater vs OKC – Game 5 – 2019 Western Conference

Damian Lillard dropped a game-winning, buzzer-beater to cap off a 50-point outing as the No. 3 seed Portland Trail Blazers beat the No. 6 Oklahoma City Thunder 118-115 in Game 5 of their NBA Western Conference first-round playoff series.

After much back and forth jawing between Lillard and the Thunder team, the ultimate revenge came in the form of a high-arching 37-footer over Paul George.

With the Blazers down 115-113, Lillard hit a two-pointer with 32.8 seconds left to tie the game. After a Westbrook miss, Lillard wound the clock down and hit his second career game-winner to end a playoff series. The first came against the Rockets in 2014, with Lillard leading the Blazers to a first-round win.

“That was the last word,” Lillard said after the game of his three-pointer. “That was having the last word.”

The Wave Goodbye

OKC’s Paul George did not share the fans’ opinion, saying after the game that Lillard’s 37-foot game-winner was… “That’s a bad shot,” he said. “I don’t care what anybody says. That’s a bad shot. But, hey, he made it. That story won’t be told, that it’s a bad shot. You live with that.”

The Trail Blazers went on to be swept by the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, but Lillards game winner vs OKC will live on forever, and so will that wave.
