JASON WILLIAMS BEST PLAYS

Born 1975, Jason Williams, better known as ‘White Chocolate’ was one of the flashiest playmakers in NBA history.

Williams was drafted #7 overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 1998 NBA Draft, he quickly made a splash in his first year in the NBA for his flashy plays and numerous suspensions, including;

  • failure to comply with the NBA’s anit-drug program
  • shouting racial slurs to GSW season ticket holders
  • cursing at New Jersey Nets fans

In 2001, the Kings traded Williams and Nick Anderson to the Vancouver Grizzlies for Mike Bibby and Brent Price.

Williams spent time in a few franchises, including Sacramento, Memphis, Miami and Orlando.

Throughout all this, White Chocolate was able to create a highlight reel for the ages…

Despite his sometimes sketchy decision making on the court and his even sketchier decision making off the court, Jason Williams is still one of the names that comes to mind when we think of ‘best players to watch’ in NBA history.

He also managed to be an integral part of the Miami Heat’s 2006 champion team, with season statistics of 9.3 ppg, 3.9 apg on 29.8 minutes played in the Playoffs, starting all 28 games.

In September 26, 2008 Williams announced his retirement from the NBA after 10 years due to persistent injuries.

White Chocolate, we remember…
