NBA Betting Tips and Predictions 4/12

NBA betting tips basketball

We have to wait for the 21-0 game until tomorrow, when The Warriors face a danger game at Toronto. It’s the only season streak left since the 76ers put their own to rest.
Tonight Houston continue the fight to keep their season alive at 8-11 and facing a Mavericks team that is playing some quality ball. James Harden keeps padding his stats sheet, while Dwight keeps disappointing fantasy owners throughout the world.

Sitting at 8-11, a few months back the Rockets came into the season with hope of a good upcoming season…

This post is old, check out the latest NBA betting tips and predictions.

Phoenix at Washington

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
15 Phoenix 106.3 105.8 +0.5
23 Washington 99.4 104.1 -4.7

The Five Points

  • The Wizards (23 turnovers) lost to the lowly Lakers 104-108 the last time they took to the court after having beaten the Cavs just the day before. Talk about going from highs to lows, but that pretty much sums up the Wizards. They have won only 1 of the last 6. Martin Gortat referred to his new team as “unpredictable” and “crazy.”
  • John Wall has turned a slump, shooting 25 of 43 from the last 2 games, after averaging 33.8% from the field over the previous 5.
  • Both Tyson Chandler (hamstring) and Markieff Morris may sit for the Suns. Phoenix has a   -8.2 rebounding margin over its past 4 games, largely for these reasons.
  • The Wizards look to avoid losing their 4th straight at home.
  • This game is very hard to call, so we’ll go with the home team, at decent value.

The Best Bet : Wizards +1 @1.91. It could be that close.

Feeling Lucky : Wizards 1-10 @2.76.

Result : WSH 109, PHX 106

Milwaukee at Detroit

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
28 Milwaukee 95.3 102.8 -7.5
16 Detroit 98.2 97.9 +0.3

The Five Points

  • It’s the battle of the big men, with former team mates Andre Drummond (18.6 ppg, 16.7 rpg) and Greg Monroe (15.7 ppg, 9.4 rpg) facing off. In the previous meeting Monroe had 20 points, 13 rebounds while Drummond finished with 15 points  and 15 rebounds.
  • Andre Drummond leads the league with 17 double-doubles.
  • The Bucks have lost their last 7 on the road. While the Pistons are 6-2 at home.
  • The PG situation in Milwaukee is a toss up, with Jerryd Bayless benched in the last game in favour of Tyler Ennis, who finished with 4 points, and 3 assists. Coach Jason Kidd says it was not an issue of discipline. “No, I just didn’t want to play him tonight,” he said. “I wanted to look at Tyler tonight.”
  • The Bucks have won 3 of the last 10, and with their terrible road record, visiting Detroit won’t be easy.

The Best Bet : Detroit -6.5 @1.91

Feeling Lucky : Andre Drummond first basket @6.85.

Result : DET 102, MIL 95

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
29 LA Lakers 97.3 105.7 -8.4
11 Atlanta 101.6 100 +1.6

The Five Points

  • The Lakers surprised with a 108-104 win against a strong Wizards outfit in their last game, snapping a 7  game losing streak. Shattering millions of parlays in the process.
  • Kobe scored a season high 31 against the Wizards scoring 12 in the last quarter. The farewell tour will be full of highs and lows, good to see him have a night out. “We are all just having fun and going out there and trying to play with the right energy,” Bryant said. “It seems like it has pumped some life into us.”
  • Atlanta have dropped 7 of the last 11, with the Raptors scoring a season high 39 last quarter points in their last outing to lose 86-96. “It’s just unacceptable on our part,” center Al Horford said. “We just relaxed in the second half as a team, especially in the fourth quarter. It’s just disappointing.”
  • Lakers mascot Nick Young, AKA Swaggy P described the Lakers as “a circus” after the 76ers loss. Bit rich coming from him.
  • The Hawks are the streakiest team in the league right now, with their last 10 games looking like this :LWLWLWLWLL. History says it’s time for a…W?

The Best Bet : Atlanta @1.11. The only one worth a look, but this could easily be left out of any parlay. No point losing a bet over this.

Feeling Lucky : Forget it.

Result : ATL 100, LAL 87

Houston at Dallas

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
24 Houston 102.2 107.6 -5.4
16 Dallas 100.8 100.5 +0.3

The Five Points

  • Houston is back in a groove, averaging 111.3 over the last 4, after averaging only 97.0 over eight games previous. The Rockets bench has been averaging 42.3 ppg over this stretch.
  • Dwight Howard continues to be a shadow of the fantasy pick he used to be. This also equates to real life, where he is averaging 12.9 ppg and 12.3 rpg, while playing whenever he feels like it.
  • Veteran big man, Zaza Pachulia is averaging 11.1 ppg along with 10.2 rpg for the Mavs. “He’s just real smart in there. He uses his body and he’s a little more athletic than he appears,” coach Rick Carlisle said. “He’s quick to the ball and his strength and timing is really uncanny.”
  • Dirk Nowitzki is averaging 17.5 ppg and 7.1 rpg, in 30.1 minute of game time this season.
  • The Mavs are back at home, with a day’s rest.

The Best Bet : Dallas WIN @1.44.

Feeling Lucky : Over 209.1 points. @1.91

Result : HOU 100, DAL 96

Cleveland at New Orleans

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
4 Cleveland 102.1 96.6 +5.5
27 New Orleans 101.6 109.1 -7.5

The Five Points.

  • Last time Lebron won in New Orleans, he was 26 years old, and hadn’t yet taken his talents to South Beach.
  • The Pelicans are allowing a league high 109.1 ppg.
  • Tyreke Evans is two games into his season after injury, averaging 15.0ppg and 9.0 apg. “I feel alright. I’m a little sore, but this was a back-to-back and it made it tougher,” Evans said. “I’m just happy to be out there, to help my team and compete and try to work my way back and get things right.”
  • Cleveland has hit only 37.1 % from the field, while committing 39 turnovers in the last two games.
  • J.R. Smith has been throwing up bricks, going 6 for 27 in the last 2. But still thinks he’s one of the best shooters in the league.

The Best Bet : Cavs WIN @1.49. The obvious selection.

Feeling Lucky : Cavs -5  @1.91.

Result : NO 114, CLE 108 (OT)
