NBA CHAMPIONSHIP PICKS 2019/20

ODDS TO WIN 2019-20 NBA CHAMPIONSHIP

We are finally here, the 2019-2020 NBA Season is upon us.

Many questions arise this season and one of the big ones is who is going to win the Championship. This season is one of the more talked about seasons because of how open the race to the NBA championship is. Free-agency was crazy, but this time, the result created parity between the West and the East.

There will always be favorites and underdogs, but at least the Warriors are not a firm -200 like the past 4 years. So, as NBA punters, we welcome the Odds being more equal and the competition getting fiercer.

Our friends at Jazz Sports love the NBA almost as much as our visitors, and have shared their Odds with us.

ODDS TO WIN 2019-20 NBA CHAMPIONSHIP – Odds from JazzSports.ag

Los Angeles Clippers +350

The Clippers are all the hype this year, and that’s because of the addition of superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Kawhi will be aiming to win his 3rd championship on his 3rd different team, a task unequaled by anybody else in the league. He also has the motivation to beat Lebron, especially as they are crosstown rivals and share the same stadium. Doc Rivers will be happy to lead this team to glory at the end of the year, especially now that the odds deem them as favorites.

Los Angeles Lakers +425

Showtime is back in Los Angeles! But, is that enough for Lebron James and Anthony Davis win a ring? The Clippers are messing with James’ plans for a 4th ring, and it looks like they will get the best of him. The Lakers did a great job this offseason and we can’t wait to see them on the court. Let’s just pray that the injury Gods stay away from Los Angeles so we can see the full potential they have.

Milwaukee Bucks +550

We are sure Giannis is happy with his MVP trophy, but we think Giannis strives for that NBA Championship. This generational athlete has the team to back him up, it’s a matter of them overcoming the competition in the East to later go head to head with the West’s best team. This won’t be an easy task, but it helps that Kawhi Leonard switched conferences. Philadelphia got better, which will continue to be an obstacle in their path, so we’ll see how this season plays out.

Philadelphia 76ers +700

Did you “trust the process”? We sure did! The 76ers are now at the gates to something real, and we can’t wait to see how this season goes for them. Yes, they lost Jimmy Butler, but they still have one of the better teams in the East. Simmons can now shoot triples (from the little we’ve seen in viral videos) and Embiid is on a new healthy diet. Philadelphia will likely encounter the Bucks at some point in the Playoffs, so that’s when their true test will come. Can “The Process” go all the way this year?

Houston Rockets +750

The Westbrook-Harden experiment is about to begin! This could go terribly wrong or go unbelievably great for the Rockets this season. From what we’ve seen this preseason, Harden will continue to be the main producer on the team and Westbrook will be a strong second option. After all, this is Harden’s team, right? The only thing that worries us is the reputation both these players of under-performing in the Playoffs. All In all, teams should take this Rockets threat very seriously.

Golden State Warriors +1000

The Warriors will continue to be a great team, trust us here. They’ve won without Kevin Durant before, so him leaving is not a dynasty killer. The issue here is Klay Thompson’s health, but he should be back when the postseason comes around. All they need to do is get into the playoffs and they’ll be as dangerous as ever, so expect them to be in the mix for the championship.

Denver Nuggets +1500

The Nuggets are a great team during the season, the only thing they lack is Playoff experience. It wouldn’t surprise us if they have the best record in the NBA during the season, which should work wonders for them in the postseason. Nikola Jokic, will grow as a leader and his supporting cast will get better. Plus, team chemistry is on their side as they have been playing with each other for the past few seasons.

Utah Jazz +1500

The Jazz made several wise moves this off-season with some key additions. They upgraded themselves at point guard and they also acquired a shooter, which was much needed. Donovan “Spider” Mitchell should continue to improve and the Frenchman Rudy Gobert will be making a case for Defensive Player of the year again. This will probably not be their year, just because the West is really good.

Boston Celtics + 2750

We have a semi-overhaul in Boston this year! Kemba is the perfect replacement for Kyrie and Tatum and Brown should get better. However, the Celtics need a real leader to step up and really embrace the offensive workload. The Celtics looks confused last season on that subject as nobody really took the help, and that’s Brad Stevens’ fault. Hopefully there is a better game plan and more guidance from the coach as to how the offense is going to work. We could see the Celtics do good this year; it just won’t be enough to surpass the Eastern Conference rivals. Maybe Gordon Hayward has something to say about that?

Toronto Raptors +6500

Interesting how things can change so quickly in the NBA, just ask the Raptors. They go from champions to losing their star player in free agency to now depending on Pascal Siakam to save them from oblivion. We’ll see how old souls like Kyle Lowry and Marc Gasol cope with Leonard’s absence, and we hope others step up to the plate in terms of production. All in all, the Raptors can still compete in the East but probably won’t make it very far with the Bucks and 76ers in the mix.

The Midfield Picks

The Lay Up: Easy, place a bet on the Clippers and the Lakers. Both teams pay well and they are likely to get out of the West, thus probably beating the Eastern contender in the Finals.

The Half Court Heave: The upside in Houston is amazing, if their experiment works, they’ll be dangerous, so placing a bet on the Rockets makes sense. Don’t forget about Giannis and the Bucks, they are eager to prove themselves and the window of opportunity won’t last forever. This is also a decent bet.

The Full-Court Heave for the win: Betting on the Warriors is probably our favorite bet here; it pays ridiculously well for such a great team. If you want to cover the ground, also go with the Sixers!
