TONIGHT’S MLB PICKS & PARLAYS
SAN DIEGO PADRES @ ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS
San Diego and Arizona continue their NL West series Saturday night at Chase Field.
Both are eyeing playoff spots, with the Padres sitting second in the division at 91-68 and aiming to lock up the top NL Wild Card spot.
Vet left-hander Martin Perez will take the mound for San Diego, bringing a 5-5 record, 4.25 ERA, and 1.45 WHIP into the game. Perez is coming off a nice outing against the White Sox, allowing one run over 5.1 innings in his last start.
The Diamondbacks are also in the hunt for a postseason berth and are fresh off an 8-2 win over the Giants. Veteran right-hander Eduardo Rodriguez will pitch for Arizona, with a 3-4 record and a 5.56 ERA.
Rodriguez has found it tough with control and the long ball, allowing eight home runs in just 45.1 innings this season. He’ll look to rebound after giving up five runs in 4.2 innings in his last outing against San Francisco.

TEXAS RANGERS @ LA ANGELS
The Rangers and Angels, both out of playoff contention, meet in the second game of their final series at Angel Stadium.
Texas are third in the AL West and are sending veteran left-hander Andrew Heaney to the mound. Heaney, with a 3.98 ERA, has been good in recent starts, as the Rangers have won four of his last five outings.
The Angels, who have had a dismal season, will counter with right-hander Griffin Canning, who has struggled with a 5.24 ERA but has seen the team win three of his last four starts.
Texas, coming off a World Series title in 2023, has been up and down this season, and will be without Corey Seager, who recently underwent season-ending surgery. However they still have power from players like Adolis Garcia, who has 24 home runs and 84 RBIs.
The Angels are looking to finish the season on a high note after being swept by the White Sox. Logan O’Hoppe and Taylor Ward lead the lineup, but injuries to key players like Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel have hindered their performance. Both pitchers will look to finish the season on a high note as their teams play out the string.
