MATCH PREVIEW

In the midst of a four-game losing streak, the Saints welcome the Denver Broncos at Caesars Superdome on Thursday Night Football, as former Saints head coach Sean Payton makes his return to Louisiana.

The Saints are coming off a 51-27 loss to the Buccaneers, a game in which they allowed their highest point total since 2012. QB Spencer Rattler made his first NFL start and, while showing flashes, couldn’t secure the win.

The Saints staged a big second-quarter comeback to take a 27-24 lead at halftime after being down 17-0 early, but the game slipped away as the Buccaneers rattled off 27 unanswered points in the second half.

The Broncos’ Week 6 ended in a 23-16 loss to the Chargers at Empower Field. Although the score suggests a closer game, Denver was down 23-0 entering the fourth quarter and only managed a late surge.

Adding to the Broncos’ woes, star cornerback Pat Surtain suffered a concussion early in the game and is unlikely to play Thursday. Luckily for Denver, New Orleans are dealing with injuries to their top receivers Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee), leaving Rattler with limited weapons in his second start.
