MATCH PREVIEW

The Week Five NFL schedule kicks off Thursday night with an NFC South showdown between the Buccaneers and Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Buccaneers (3-1) lead the division, averaging 24.3 points per game. In their most recent outing, Tampa Bay surged ahead early and cruised to a 33-16 win over Philadelphia, scoring the first 24 points.

Baker Mayfield torched the Eagles’ secondary for 347 passing yards and two TDs, while Mike Evans added a two-yard touchdown and racked up 94 receiving yards.

The Atlanta Falcons (2-2) raised eyebrows this offseason by signing QB Kirk Cousins and drafting QB Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth pick.

The Falcons have some injuries along the offensive line and are scoring a tad south of 19 points per game. On Sunday, Younghoe Koo nailed a 58-yard field goal with two seconds remaining to lift Atlanta to a 26-24 home win over New Orleans.

The Falcons failed to score an offensive touchdown on Sunday, and Kirk Cousins is struggling behind an injured offensive line.
