SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS @ ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS
The Giants smashed the Diamondbacks 11-0 on Tuesday, bringing the season series to a 6-6 tie.
Although out of the playoffs, San Francisco has gone 6-1 against playoff contenders, led by strong pitching. Mason Black will start for the Giants with a 3.72 ERA since August. Offensively, San Francisco averages 4.27 runs per game, ranking 17th in MLB.
Arizona who are still battling for a playoff spot turns to Zac Gallen, who has been upo and down but had the better of the Giants in a no-hit effort earlier this month. The Diamondbacks lead MLB with 5.50 runs per game and rank highly in OBP and slugging percentage.
They’ll look to secure a crucial win to keep their postseason hopes alive.

KANSAS CITY @ WASHINGTON NATIONALS
The Royals (83-74) snapped their 7-game losing streak in a 1-0 win over the Nationals last night. The Nats now sit (69-88) in the second game of a three-game set at Nationals Park.
Both teams are not producing much offensively, but Kansas City remains in the AL Wild Card hunt, tied with Detroit and just a game ahead of Minnesota for the final spot.
Michael Lorenzen (7-6, 3.43 ERA) will take the mound for the Royals, having pitched to a stellar 0.63 ERA over his last three starts.
The Nationals have already planned their early holidays and will rely on DJ Herz (4-8, 4.30 ERA) to play spoiler. Herz has been inconsistent, allowing seven runs in his last outing against the Mets, but has shown some good potential.
Washington’s lineup has been cold, with just eight hits in their last loss. With the run line set at 7.5, both teams’ offensive struggles and the solid recent form of Lorenzen suggest a low-scoring affair.
Expect Kansas to lean on their pitching as they continue their playoff push, while Washington tries to break free from their recent slump.
