The Giants (74-78, 4th NL West) begin a three-game interleague series on Friday against the Kansas City Royals (82-71, 2nd AL Central).
With 10 games remaining, San Francisco is 10 games out of the final NL Wild Card spot and has been knocked-out of NL West contention.
Kansas City were swept by the Tigers and has dropped four straight. The Royals sit six games behind first-place Cleveland in the AL Central but currently hold the second AL Wild Card spot.
San Francisco’s offense ranks 18th in runs scored (648) and 21st in on-base percentage (.306), with Matt Chapman leading the team with 34 home runs and 73 RBIs. The Giants will turn to Mason Black, who is 0-4 with a 7.07 ERA this season.
Kansas City has sme solid offensive numbers, ranking 9th in runs scored (718). Bobby Witt Jr. leads the team with 32 home runs and 108 RBIs. On the mound, Michael Wacha will start for the Royals, bringing a 13-7 record and 3.29 ERA into the game.

COLORADO ROCKIES @ LA DODGERS
The Rockies (59-94) face the Dodgers (91-62) at Dodger Stadium.
Colorado will start left-hander Kyle Freeland, who has foundit tough going on the road this season. Freeland is 5-7 with a 4.89 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 19 outings (103 IP) this season. On the road, his numbers drop further, with a 5.98 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 10 starts. The Rockies recently won two of three against Arizona but are just 23-55 away from Coors Field this season.
Los Angeles has not named a starter, though it is likely the Dodgers will employ a bullpen game. The team is 48-27 at home and recently dominated Miami, scoring 20 runs. The Dodgers rank 7th in ERA this season and continue to rely on their bullpen in big matchups as they hold on to the division lead.
Freeland has a career 5-10 record and a 4.75 ERA against the Dodgers in 23 games (105 IP).
