THE RUB
The Canucks missed their first chance to eliminate the Oilers and advance to the Western finals. Vancouver now faces a must-win Game 7 on Monday at home to keep their season alive. Edmonton forced the series decider with a 5-1 win in Game 6.
Vancouver, without star winger Brock Boeser (blood-clotting issues), will need to rebound from their poor performance, where they managed just 15 shots on goal and failed on all four power-play opportunities. Boeser leads the Canucks with seven goals and is tied for the team lead with 12 points.
Quinn Hughes emphasized the importance of treating Game 7 like any other game and seizing the opportunity. Edmonton, aiming for their second conference finals in three years, will lean on their Game 7 experience. Connor McDavid stressed maintaining urgency and expecting a competitive game.
The winner will face the Dallas Stars in the conference finals starting Thursday.
