Steph Curry’s 32-foot Game Winner vs OKC
It was a record breaking night for Steph Curry on the 28th February, 2016.
Not only did he hit the game winner from 32 feet to sink the Thunder in OT on their home court, but that buzzer beater was his 12th 3-pointer of the night, tying the record of most 3’s in a game (Kobe Bryant in 2003 and Donyell Marshell in 2005)…but not only that…
Curry also broke his own NBA single-season record for 3’s with his 287th trey.
With the win, the Warriors also clinched a playoff spot with a 53-5 record, the fastest team to clinch a playoff spot in NBA history.
Curry finished the game with 46 points on 14-24 shooting, giving soon-to-be teammate Kevin Durant an itchy trigger finger for a trade to Dub City.
OKC led by 10 points at the end of the 1st, and held the lead all the way until overtime was forced following two clutch Andre Iguodala free throws, tying the game 113-113.
The Thunder started OT well until Durant fouled out with 37 points.
Enter Curry…
Bang! Bang! Ohhhh what a shot from Curry!
The Warriors would end up with a season record of 73-9, breaking the Chicago Bulls single season wins record of 72-10. Curry would win the NBA MVP Award, his 2nd, and back-to-back.
On this night we re-wound the tape at least 20 times.
