With a win for the Bulls tonight, we could see the biggest upset of the Conference Finals one step closer to completion. The 1st seed Celtics faced some harsh luck with their spiritual leader and best player losing his sister in a car accident just prior to Game 1, and dare we say he hasn’t been the same player over the first 2 games.

Set to return to the squad for Game 3 following a couple of day’s leave for grieving, we can’t help but see this one play out much the same as the first two games, with Jimmy, D-Wade and Rondo in some vintage form.

We’re trying not to get sucked into the first two outcomes of this series, however a +2.5 line for the Rockets is tempting given the way they have controlled to game over stretches in the first 2 games.

We have seen the Westbrook effect over the first 2 games, and how important he is to OKC, however the issue lies with this exact fact, because as we watch Harden and the Rockets gel, we just can’t see anything other than Westbrook +4 from the Thunder side.

When asked about his triple double in game 2 –

“I don’t give a (expletive) about the line,” Westbrook said. “We lost.”

…. and part of the reason for the loss may have been his 17 of 43 shooting effort.

Gobert continues to sit with a knee injury, and it’s about this point in the series where the loss of a starter becomes a glaring issue, particularly on the boards, where the Jazz have struggled during his absence.

Without Gobert protecting the rim, the Jazz conceded 60 points in the paint in a 99-91 Game 2 loss to the Clippers that evened the series at 1-1. With Favors taking Gobert’s minutes, he looked tired in Game 2, and he will only get more fatigued as the series rolls on.

We like the Clippers in this one to take the series lead, in a low scoring affair. Second chance rebounds to be the difference.
