Tonight’s 5 NBA Tips

Toronto @ Cleveland

Points +/- Rank

TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
Toronto 105.3 99.2 +6.1
Cleveland 109.4 102.0 +7.4

The Say

These are the Eastern Conference elite and have the top two best records.

The Cavs got the win in T-dot previously and with JR Smith 50/50 to play, the Raptors may look to get some revenge in Cleveland. DeRozan is bringing out his inner late 80’s Jordan with 30+point games in 8 of the first 9.

The Cavs are putting up a league high in threes this season which does expose them on the transition. However, Cleveland showed in the playoffs last season its not easy beating them at home.

Best Bet: Cleveland WIN @1.39

Feeling Lucky: Cleveland 1-10 @2.60

Atlanta @ Miami

Points +/- Rank

TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
Atlanta 109.6 98.9 +10.7
Miami 94.9 98.0 -3.1

The Say

The Heat just came up short in San Antonio with big nights from Waiters and Whiteside although it has continued their 5 game slide. On the second night of a B2B and facing Millsap and Howard, the Hawks will have the upper hand in the fatigue game.

Best Bet: Atlanta WIN @1.37

Feeling Lucky: Atlanta -6.5 @1.90

Charlotte @ Minnesota

Points +/- Rank

TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
Charlotte 104.4 98.9 +5.5
Minnesota 107.9 105.1 +2.8

The Say

Rubio is back and Wiggins is fresh off a 47 point beat down to the Lakers. Include Towns and they have a formidable lineup to take down the Hornets. Our only issue is their consistency and late game slip ups could play into Charlotte’s hands, especially with their 3-1 record on the road.

Best Bet: Under 212.5 @1.49

Feeling Lucky: Charlotte -2.5 @1.95

Chicago @ Portland

Points +/- Rank

TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
Chicago 106.2 100.8 +5.4
Portland 108.7 111.1 -2.4

The Say

The Blazers come in as favourites here, but we’re not swayed by the bookies, and if Jimmy Butler can
bring some of that 37 point effort that we saw against the Wizards we may have an upset.

The Blazers are tied for second with Utah in the Northwest Division, and with McCollum and Lillard syncing well, they are always a threat. The only issue has been their rebounding which was poor with 57-71 against the Nuggets last out.

The Bulls dominance on the glass may be the difference here, and the total points overs tempting being 9-0 in the Blazers last 9 home games.

Best Bet: Chicago +3.5 @1.91

Feeling Lucky: Chicago WIN @2.30

Brooklyn @ LA Lakers

Points +/- Rank

TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
LA Lakers 108.6 107.5 +1.1
Brooklyn 105.2 109.5 -4.3

The Say

After what we saw from the Nets last night in a 127-95 loss to the Clippers in LA, I’d be confident that I could pull together a few mates from work and give them a run for their money for a solid 15 minutes. They were just, that, bad.

Either they pull themselves together and put up a better showing at Staples this time around, or the young Lakers are going to bring some of that 1980’s Showtime era action.

We’re picking the latter, with the even spread of scoring at LA too good with Lou Williams 16.5 ppg, D’Angelo Russell 15.4 ppg, Jordan Clarkson 15.0 ppg and Julius Randle 13.9 ppg so far this season.

Best Bet: LA Lakers -7.0 @1.91

Feeling Lucky: LA Lakers 11+ @2.52
