THE RUB

The upcoming Semi-Final  Series between Cleveland and Boston marks a renewal of their playoff rivalry, with their last postseason clash occurring in the 2017-18 Eastern Conference Finals.  In that series, the Celtics went through with an 87-79 win in Game 7.

Historically, they’ve met in eight postseason series, with the series tied at 4-4. In the recent regular season, the Celtics held the edge with a 2-1 series win, securing two wins at home.

Boston enters the second round after dispatching Miami in 5 games during the first round, while Cleveland overcame Orlando in a hard-fought 7-game series.

Noteworthy is Boston’s solid home record in conference play, winning 27 of their last 29 games at TD Garden.

However, the Cavaliers aim to break their 6-game road losing streak as they seek success away from home. Cleveland’s Jarrett Allen is questionable, while Boston will continue to miss the services of Kristaps Porzingis.

The stage is set for an electrifying Game 1 showdown at TD Garden on Tuesday night.
