PREVIEW
The 2024-25 NBA Finals tip off Thursday night as the Pacers face the Thunder at Paycom Center.
Neither franchise has lifted the Larry O’Brien Trophy in its current form – Indiana is chasing its first-ever NBA title, while Oklahoma City’s lone championship dates back to 1979 when the team was the Seattle SuperSonics.
The Thunder swept the regular season series 2-0, including a dominant 132-111 win at home. Despite missing Chet Holmgren in both games, Oklahoma City controlled the paint and leaned on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averaged 39.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists in those matchups. That interior advantage was clear, with the Thunder outscoring the Pacers 108-78 inside.
In the playoffs, Oklahoma City rolled past Minnesota in five games behind Gilgeous-Alexander’s 31.4 points and 8.2 assists per game.
Indiana outlasted the Knicks in six, led by Tyrese Haliburton’s 21.0 points and 10.5 assists.
PICK – UNDER 231.5 TOTAL POINTS
