Atlanta will be looking to make it five straight wins over Washington when they host the Wizards at State Farm Arena for Friday night’s NBA Cup Group Stage clash. The Hawks took the first game of this home-and-home series 120-105 on Wednesday, extending their recent dominance over Washington.

Atlanta’s perimeter defence made a massive difference in that victory, holding the Wizards to an ugly 6-of-26 shooting from beyond the arc. Onyeka Okongwu dominated the glass with 14 points and 16 rebounds on 5-of-9 shooting, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker chipped in with 26 points.

Washington got another strong performance from Anthony Davis, who finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks, but it wasn’t enough. The Hawks now sit at 5-4 for the season, while the Wizards are 4-4. Davis is questionable for Washington, while Jalen Johnson is also questionable for Atlanta. With home-court advantage and recent history on their side, the Hawks will be feeling confident heading into this rematch.

Cleveland are coming off a disappointing 124-116 loss to Oklahoma City despite Donovan Mitchell putting up 27 points and knocking down 5 threes. James Harden added 19 points and 9 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough. The Cavaliers have still won 13 of their last 17 home games, so they’ll be confident of bouncing back.

Jaylen Brown also impressed with 30 points as the Sixers extended their winning streak to five games, matching their longest run since April 2024. Adem Bona is doubtful for Philadelphia, while Jarrett Allen and Peyton Watson are questionable for Cleveland.

Utah suffered another frustrating defeat, going down 120-113 to New Orleans in overtime despite George exploding for 39 points, 9 assists and a career-high-tying 4 steals. Toronto will be looking to finish their four-game road trip on a high when they visit Milwaukee at Fiserv Forum for Friday night’s NBA Cup Group Stage clash. The Raptors won three of four meetings against the Bucks last season, including both games in Milwaukee, so recent history is certainly on their side.

Milwaukee are coming off another frustrating defeat, going down 109-102 to Boston despite Tyler Herro putting up 25 points. The Bucks have now lost eight of their last nine games, and their early-season form has been pretty ugly.

Toronto were comfortably beaten 128-109 by Denver on Wednesday, extending their miserable road record to nine losses from their last 11 away games. The Raptors haven’t exactly been setting the world on fire either, making this an interesting matchup between two struggling teams. Scottie Barnes is questionable for Toronto, and his availability could play a major role in how this contest unfolds.
