Orlando comes into this NBA Cup semi-final with the upper hand in the season series, leading 2-1, and has generally looked comfortable when things are clicking. Franz Wagner remains sidelined but has been a major factor in the Magic’s wins this year, averaging 32.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in those victories. They booked their spot in Vegas by beating Miami 117-108, with Desmond Bane leading the way with 37 points, 6 rebounds and 6 triples on 14-24 shooting. Orlando is now 8-1 when Bane scores 20+ points, which says a lot about their ceiling.
New York arrives with plenty of confidence after knocking off Toronto 117-101 in the quarter-finals. Jalen Brunson was the difference in that one, pouring in 35 points with 6 triples on 13-19 shooting. The Knicks have been automatic when he’s hot from deep, winning 17 straight games when Brunson makes 6+ threes. While Orlando has controlled most of this matchup so far, New York’s offense can swing games quickly when Brunson gets rolling, especially on a neutral floor.

San Antonio comes into the NBA Cup semi-final with some real momentum after knocking out the Lakers in Los Angeles. Stephon Castle led the way with 30 points and 10 rebounds, and the Spurs showed real composure away from home. The biggest boost is Victor Wembanyama being probable to return after missing 12 games, which would completely change their ceiling on both ends. San Antonio has played faster and more confidently during this Cup run, and getting their star back gives them belief they can hang with anyone on a neutral floor.
Oklahoma City has looked every bit the part of a title contender. The Thunder cruised past Phoenix 138-89 in the quarter-finals, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren again setting the tone early. They’ve now won 16 straight, playing with elite balance, defensive pressure and shot-making. Shai continues to control games efficiently, while Holmgren’s rim protection and spacing have been massive. On this kind of stage, Oklahoma City’s cohesion and form make them extremely hard to slow down.
