In Game 1 of the Eastern Semis, the Knicks swooped in late to secure a 121-117 win over the Indiana Pacers.
Donte DiVincenzo, Jalen Brunson, and Josh Hart, known as the “Villanova Three,” combined for a staggering 92 points.
Brunson came up huge with a game-high 43 points, becoming just the fourth player in NBA history (along with Michael Jordan, Bernard King and Jerry West) to score 40+ points in four straight playoff games.
New York’s trio dominated the fourth quarter, scoring 34 of the team’s 39 points during that period.
Despite Indiana’s discontent with some officiating calls, the Knicks surged in the second half, shooting 65.0% from the field and 63.6% from beyond the arc.
DiVincenzo’s was clutch, knicking down a tie-breaking 3-pointer and drawing a crucial foul, sealing the W for New York.
