The Nuggets are staring down the barrel of conceding a 2-0 home deficit to Portland unless Nikola goes for 40.
His 34 and 16 effort in Game 1 was nice (14 of 27) from the floor but just the 4 FT attempts is below his season average and below expectation should the Nuggets overcome a mountain of injuries.
Nikola no doubt is going to lead the Nuggets in shot attempts – it’s a god damn given – so taking on his prop to exceed the overs is the right play – with the knowledge that he will shoot it at 50% or better.
It’s a rock solid play to get us moving.
