Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
Toronto | 109.0 | 91.0 | +18.0 |
Cleveland | 117.0 | 88.0 | +29.0 |
The Say
The night the Cavs received their Championship rings, they demolished the new look Knicks by 29 points and were able to watch their West Coast rival in the Warriors drop a game at home by that same margin. Things couldn’t be better for the Champs. Although, in the North against the Raptors, their record in Canada hasnt been great.
Toronto had their own scoring feast against the Pistons last out with both DeRozan and Valanciunas scoring 40 & 32 respectively. Tonight will be a good test for both teams who last met in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavs are favourite but better to stay on the safe side.
Best Bet: Cleveland +8.5 @1.22
Feeling Lucky: Cleveland 1-10 @2.46
Indiana @ Brooklyn
Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
Indiana | 130.0 | 121.0 | +9.0 |
Brooklyn | 117.0 | 122.0 | -5.0 |
The Say
Indiana had a scare last out against the Mavs at home in OT while the Nets were able to score 117 points in a loss against the Celtics which shocked us all. We are just taking the two scenarios as first game anomalies that happen at the beginning of each season. Don’t hold your breath on those nice Indy odds.
Best Bet: Indiana WIN @1.37
Feeling Lucky: Under 209.5 @2.54
Orlando @ Detroit
Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
Orlando | 96.0 | 108.0 | -12.0 |
Detroit | 91.0 | 109.0 | -18.0 |
The Say
Along with the Bucks and of-course the Warriors, the Magic were another disappointing team who lost on their home court opening game. The trip to Detroit wont be any easier with the Piston’s record at the Palace still impressive from last season. Orlando had major issues on both ends last out while the Pistons just came up against a more drilled opponent. If Reggie Jackson was out there, we would be very confident in a Detroit win but could be a danger.
Best Bet: Under 204.5 @1.46
Feeling Lucky: Detroit 1-10 @2.43
Phoenix @ Oklahoma City
Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
Phoenix | 94.0 | 113.0 | -19.0 |
Oklahoma City | 103.0 | 97.0 | +6.0 |
The Say
The Thunder were pressed by the young 76ers in their first game without Kevin Durant and really looked to struggle on the offensive end. With no real replacement with scoring or defense, it’s going to take huge nights from Westbrook to put up winning scores. Oklahoma were big scorers last season but will struggle to match those numbers without KD.
The Suns are in rebuilding mode but could catch fire from the arc at anytime. The Thunder’s perimeter defense will be on check to get the win at home.
Best Bet: Under 216.5 @1.47
Feeling Lucky: Oklahoma 1-10 @2.45
Charlotte @ Miami
Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
Miami | 108.0 | 96.0 | +12.0 |
Charlotte | 107.0 | 96.0 | +11.0 |
The Say
The Heat got the monkey off the back early by easily defeating their neigbors in Orlando but face a tough opponent at home. Miami were able to score easily inside against an Magic outfit who looked a little lost with Biyombo in the middle.
Charlotte got the win against the NBA darlings in Milwaukee and looked like a team ready to go better than their first round exit in last seasons’ playoffs. Their lineup is very even on both ends and looks to be the upset game of the day.
Best Bet: Charlotte +7.5 @1.44
Feeling Lucky: Charlotte WIN @2.10
Houston @ Dallas
Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
Dallas | 121.0 | 130.0 | -9.0 |
Houston | 114.0 | 120.0 | -6.0 |
The Say
It’s the battle for Texas tonight and both are looking for their maiden win after opening night losses. James Harden provided a solid line in a loss against the Lakers with 34 points, 17 assists and 8 rebounds.
This will need to be a nightly showing from Harden if the Rockets are to compete in the West. Dallas welcomed Harrison Barnes, while Deron Williams had a solid evening with 25 points and 7 assists in an OT loss to the Pacers.
Until the Rockets can plug the defensive holes, we are stepping back from any betting their way.
Best Bet: Dallas WIN @1.86
Feeling Lucky: Dallas -1.5 @1.91
LA Lakers @ Utah
Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
LA Lakers | 120.0 | 114.0 | +6.0 |
Utah | 104.0 | 113.0 | -9.0 |
The Say
After stepping over the Rockets in opening night, the Lakers head to Utah to face the solid Jazz defense. Joe Johnson scored 29 points and reminded us of Iso Joe from years back. The Lakers have the youth, cockiness and speed, but a few loose plays from the youngsters will fall into the hands of the defensive themed Jazz, but not by much.
Best Bet: Utah WIN @1.22
Feeling Lucky: Nope
Golden State @ New Orleans
Points +/- Rank
TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
Golden State | 100.0 | 129.0 | -29.0 |
New Orleans | 102 | 107 | -5 |
The Say
The Warriors lost opening night, and if you were one of the few who took a Golden State sweep of the season with 82-0 with the bookies, your thrills didn’t last long. For the Pelicans, Anthony Davis tallied 50 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks in a losing effort. That trend will likely continue tonight, as Golden State win their first of 2016/17 on their way to 81-1…JK.
Best Bet: Golden State -10.0 @1.91
Feeling Lucky: Golden State 11+ @1.92
