The Clippers’ 121-108 Christmas Day win over the Nuggets came at a cost, losing Kawhi midway through the 4th quarter after taking an elbow to the face. Leonard got eight stitches in what’s been called a mouth laceration.
The Mavericks dropped the initial two games of their current three-game road trip, including Friday’s 138-115 rout by the Lakers. Doncic had 27 points and seven assists.
The Lakers smashed the Mavericks on the glass, compiling a 53-27 advantage, including a 17-3 edge on offensive rebounds. They also were outscored 35-0 on second-chance points.
Kawhi is questionnable so we’ll take the Dallas points. Could change our minds if he suits up.

Brooklyn have impressived early in th season in winning consecutive games and allowing a league best 97 ppg. On Xmas Day, Brooklyn outscored Boston by 31 points during the 2nd half of a 123-95 road win.
Last night, Charlotte fell victim to a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander game-winning shot with 1.4 left on the clock during a 109-107 home loss versus OKC. The Hornets (0-2) made just 13-for-32 from the three-point line in defeat.
LaMelo Ball scored his first NBA points, adding 13 points and six rebounds in just 15 minutes off the bench.
The Nets rank first in the league in defensively and will have no problem with the Hornets on a B2B.

Pop’s new offense has paid dividends as the Spurs head into the second of a back-to-back tonight. San Antonio made plays down the stretch during last night’s 119-114 home win over Toronto. The Spurs assisted on 36 of their 47 made field goals and shot 47% frosm the floor.
On Xmas Day, the Pelicans trailed by 13 points at halftime and were unable to recover during a 111-98 road loss to the Heat. The Pelicans missed 25 of their 35 three-point attempts and shot just 40% from the floor. Zion Williamson shined on his Xmas debut with 32 points and 14 rebounds.

Bradley Beal has gone off for 70 points and new sidekick Westbrook has recorded a triple-double in back-to-back games. Still two losses for the Wizards however.
Beal answered a 31-point performance in the season-opening loss to Philadelphia by scoring 39 points in a 130-120 loss to Orlando on Saturday.
The Wizards haven’t helped themselves from the charity strip, making 16 of 23 attempts in a 113-107 loss to the 76ers and 15 of 28 in the loss to the Magic.

The 76ers complete the second half of a back-to-back tonight after easily disposing of the Knicks in a 109-89 win. They were never troubled after halftime.
The Cavs pulled out a 128-119 overtime win last night, with Kevin Love returning to the floor, notching up 15 points and 9 rebounds after sitting out preseason games and the season opener with a calf strain.
