DP’S PLAYER PROP

SEASON RECORD: 62-35

Expert NBA Player Props Analyst, Daniel Parisi, gives his best daily prop.

BOSTON VS TORONTO

While some teams are still battling it out in Round 1 of the playoffs, the defending Champions are well rested and get the chance to kick-start Round 2 with a win against the Celtics who for the record are the only team to have beaten the Raptors since entering the bubble. Lock yourself in for a long series.

I’m keen to take the points with Siakam in Game 1 of this series. He’s durability, shot-making and X-factor is a serious concern for the Celtics not only in the half-court but most effectively in transition.

Tatum struggled to stay out of foul trouble all series against the 76ers – and he could find himself in a vulnerable position on defense with the likes of Siakam going right at him on the wing. I expect Siakam to be explosive and aggressive in what should be a decent series start for the two-way All-Star.

DP’S PICK –  PASCAL SIAKAM OVER 21.5 POINTS

Toronto were the first team to publicly state the idea of a boycott when guards Fred VanVleet and Norman Powell spoke to the media about how the shooting of Jacob Blake was affecting players.

If the Celtics and Raptors do take the court, it would be the 5th meeting between them this season, with Boston winning three of the four matchups, including a 122-100 win in the bubble on Aug. 7th.

Celtics have the recent wood over the Raps, but a tough bet.

Trends lean heavily to Unders, but would mind a few extra points over the 216.5.

The Clippers restored order in Game 5, powering to a 154-111 win to take a 3-2 series lead, setting a franchise record for points in a playoff game.

PG13 finally found his groove, making 12 of 18 shots, including 4 of 8 from 3-point range, and scored 35 points. He admitted to emerging from mental struggles that had developed since being confined to the Bubble.

Doncic did all he could in Game 5, but shot just 6 of 17 from the floor and scored 22 points. He is listed as questionable in connection with his left ankle sprain from Game 3, but should suit up. The Clippers’ Marcus Morris Sr. stepped on Doncic’s bad ankle in Game 5 and took to social media to say “it was a mistake,” then refusing to apologize.

“I don’t want to talk to him,” Doncic said after the game. “He’s just saying a lot of bad stuff to me all game. Just, I don’t want to talk to him. I just got to move on. Like I said, everyone is going to have their own opinion and I just hope it wasn’t intentional. If that was intentional, that’s really bad.”

Big shots and bad blood have overshadowed the performance of Kawhi, who has averaged 32.8 ppg while shooting 52.3% overall.

Still no Porzingis, who will miss the remainder of this series.

Trends scream for Overs.

Denver are still alive alive  thanks to Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic’s Game 5 efforts. The Nuggets rallied from a 15-point deficit in the 3rd quarter to win, 117-107.

Murray and Jokic took turns dominating Game 5. Jokic scoring 21 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting in the 1st quarter. Then, Murray took over after halftime, pouring out 33 of his game-high 42 points over the final two quarters, hitting 14 of 18 shots over the last 24 minutes.

Utah will need similar heroics from someone other than Donovan Mitchell if the Jazz hope to end proceedings. Utah’s role players were nothing short of traffic cones in Game 5.

Mitchell has been excellent, averaging 37.6 ppg in the series at 54.5% from the floor and averaging 5.6 assists.

In their three wins, Utah have made 45% or better from the perimeter and averaged 17.3 made 3-pointers.
