This post is old, see the latest NBA betting tips.
The Warriors showed us last night just how good they are (like we weren’t sure…). In what we considered perhaps a danger game against a strong Indiana team, and PG-13, they pulled out another gear…..probably their 15th gear at this point. Klay went down with an ankle injury, but not before scoring 39 points, with 10-16 from long range.
Here are the highlights for those who missed the 23rd in a row.
$$$$$$ Today’s BEST NBA Picks and Parlays $$$$$$
Atlanta +4.5 @1.56.
Clippers WIN @1.42.
Spurs WIN @1.45.
Chicago +5.5@1.54
Chicago at Boston
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
15 | Chicago | 98.8 | 98.3 | +0.5 |
3 | Boston | 103.1 | 97.8 | +5.3 |
The Say
Could the Bulls be any more inconsistent? Sometimes showing they are a force in the East and could challenge for the conference title, and then dish out the crap we witnessed in the last 2 match-ups at home. Kudos to Charlotte and Phoenix for exposing some the Chicago’s deficiencies, but enough is enough. Are we over-rating Chicago?
The Celtics at home could strike at the right time. They too have had moments of lapse but can match it with the best. Away in New Orleans, the Celtics were able to strangle the Pelicans offensive line with Tyreke and Gordon not even registering a point. Furthermore, Sullinger was able to grab 20 boards against an all powering Anthony Davis. Foul trouble aside, that’s a fair effort.
Best Bet: Play lines or go Under, stay away from H2H. (Chicago +5.5@1.54)
Miami at Charlotte
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
9 | Miami | 96.8 | 93.3 | +3.5 |
8 | Charlotte | 102.4 | 98.8 | +3.6 |
The Say
These teams couldn’t be any closer (see above) – A Chris Bosh ejection hampered the Heat’s game against the Wizards while the Hornets keep getting the job done on home court. Look for both teams to come out and flex the muscles, more confident in predicting an overtime.
Best Bet: Another close one, go the over!
Houston at Washington
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
24 | Houston | 102.9 | 107.3 | -4.4 |
22 | Washington | 100.9 | 104.7 | -3.8 |
The Say
The two under achievers of both conferences get to square up against each other in the nations capital. Both have been headaches for fans and punters like us. At least the Wizards have got something to celebrate about with a win against the Heat but that could be short lived.
The only consistent approach for us is to not waste any more time thinking about a possible winner and move down.
Best Bet: Is there ever one when the Rockets are involved? Next game
Memphis at Detroit
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
21 | Memphis | 96.3 | 99.6 | -3.3 |
16 | Detroit | 98.3 | 97.8 | +0.5 |
The Say
The Pistons have been solid on home court but I think the punters have got this a little wrong. Yes the Grizzlies do struggle against the quicker, smarter and really better sides (Warriors/Spurs/Thunder) in the league, but Detroit don’t have enough fire power to match the output of them. If Memphis put the choke hold on Jackson and Drummond, the result would be closer if not favour the Griz.
Feeling Lucky: Memphis WIN @2.56
San Antonio at Toronto
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
2 | San Antonio | 100.2 | 88.3 | +11.9 |
7 | Toronto | 100.7 | 96.9 | +3.8 |
The Say: Can’t really see this as being anything other than a W for the Spurs, who have won 9 of the last ten, and are flying under the radar as per usual.
“We’ve always had problems with San Antonio because of their movement, their consistency and their ability to share the basketball with each other.” said Raptors coach Rex Kalamian.
We expect the same here. Too disciplined, too consistent.
Best Bet: Spurs WIN @1.45.
LA Clippers at Milwaukee
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
13 | LA Clippers | 103.1 | 102 | +1.1 |
26 | Milwaukee | 95.5 | 101.6 | -6.1 |
The Say
The Clippers roster just reads…talent. Winning 7 of the last 10, they just keep getting the job done, while going under the league radar. The Clippers (12-9) outscored Minnesota 15-8 in the last 52 seconds for a 110-106 victory over the Twolves on Monday, and it was all about….execution (cue Rusell Westbrook)…“We just closed out the game,” coach Doc Rivers said. “We executed. We got every shot. We got every stop. That’s how you end games.” …through execution.
With a little more rest over the last week than the Bucks, we’ll give it to the Clippers. Chris Paul (16.8 ppg, 8.1 rpg), Blake Griffin (24.4 ppg, 8.6 rpg and 5.0 apg) and DeAndre Jordan (11.1 ppg, 13.1 rpg) should have more than enough firepower here.
Best Bet: Clippers WIN @1.42.
LA Lakers at Minnesota
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
29 | LA Lakers | 96.3 | 105.5 | -9.2 |
19 | Minnesota | 101.1 | 102 | -0.9 |
The Say
Pretty hard to consider the Lakers as anything other than a travelling farewell tour at the moment. With little hope for the Lakers to actually salvage anything from the season, they may as well just keep letting Kobe (16.2 ppg, on .306 fg%) jack up shots like a living relic. Whatever is going on with the Lakers organization needs to stop, as it’s tough to see one of the most iconic teams in the world reduced to this.
When you’re sitting young talent, Julius Randle (11.8 ppg, 9.3 rrpg) and rookie point guard D’Angelo Russell (10.9 ppg, 3.0 apg), while the tour rolls on, you pretty much know that you’re looking forward to the lottery, despite what your coach says.
“Those two still have to understand how to play this game and it’s a tough game,” Scott said. “They’re young, and they’re a big part of our future, no doubt about that, but I still think at this point of their career you can still learn some things by sitting there watching as well.”
Stupid thing to say Byron. Better to learn on the court, as they have nothing to gain from watching and clapping. If there was ever a better time to play your young studs, I haven’t seen it.
Minnesota here.
Best Bet: Timberwolves WIN @1.38.
Orlando at Phoenix
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
10 | Orlando | 101.6 | 99.5 | +2.1 |
17 | Phoenix | 105.5 | 105.2 | +0.3 |
The Say
When one team (Orlando) has won 7 of the last ten, and the other has won 2 (Phoenix), a betting man starts to tremble with a “sure thing”. But is it?
To be honest, the Magic have been beating some pretty bad teams over the last 10 (Denver, Minnesota x2, Milwaukee, NY), while the Suns have been losing to some of the better ones (Memphis,Washington, Golden State, Spurs, Detroit). So the form line may be a little misleading here.
The suns lost their previous 4 games by a combined total of 13, they are by no means being “beaten”.
“I know we put ourselves in position to win, but nothing’s given in this league,”Brandon Knight said. “You have to go out and take it. After losing three or four games like that, I think we realize that.”
Best Bet: Magic +4 @1.92
New York at Utah
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
20 | New York | 97.2 | 98.5 | -1.3 |
12 | Utah | 97.3 | 95.9 | +1.4 |
The Say
The Knicks have dropped 6 of the last eight, end despite little Dirk scoring 28 last out against big Dirk, they are still trying to find their way. If anybody in the NBA is frustrated, it’s Carmelo, with all of his super-friends winning the ultimate prize while he watches on a bad team.
“Losing is frustrating,” said 8 time All-Star Anthony. “I don’t want this to be an ongoing situation, an ongoing feeling, where we’ve got to come to the locker room and explain why we’re losing.”
Surely he’s used to it by now.
Best Bet: Jazz WIN @1.62
Atlanta at Dallas
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
11 | Atlanta | 101.5 | 99.5 | +2 |
14 | Dallas | 101.4 | 100.5 | +0.9 |
The Say
The Hawks haven’t been able to put 2 wins together, nor 2 losses, with their last 10 looking like this WLWLWLWLWL. It makes you wonder if the gods are telling us to….pick the loss? We probably would anyway, as the Mavs have won 4 of the last 6 and are looking a little more….consistent? Which is a strong word to use for the Mavs this year.
The Mavs have been travelling, and it’s been a burn…“It’s been tough traveling-wise. We’ve been all over the shop, and we’re looking forward to settling down at home a little bit,” said Dirk Nowitzki. “But with going home, that sometimes brings some relaxation that you don’t want. I think, over the years, we dropped some games at home that we shouldn’t have lost, so we’ve got to keep that edge from the road somehow and just keep competing. Finally, we’re home longer than a couple of days.”
Dallas have played 3 games n the last 4 days, while the Hawks have played 1. Can’t help think fresh legs here will take the edge, even it it is away. Hawks here.
Best Bet: Atlanta +4.5 @1.56.
We might look at the highlights of other players more than this guy, so here are some props to the big German.
