Tonight’s 9 NBA Expert Picks:

Minnesota @ Washington

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
26 Minnesota 101.9 105.7 -3.8
17 Washington 103.1 104.2 -1.1

The Say

With the Bulls still up and down with their form, the Wizards are really the only chance to sneak into the playoffs. Although, with Detroit on a 4 game streak and a game at home tonight, Washington will be hoping for some results going their way. The Wolves have won 1 out of the last 3 and have been in a winning positions in their losses, however, the Wizards at home will be too strong.

Best Bet: Washington WIN @1.27

Feeling Lucky: Minnesota +10.5 @1.51

Charlotte @ Detroit

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
13 Detroit 102.3 101.5 +0.8
9 Charlotte 103.0 100.8 +2.2

The Say

Detroit are on a 4 game streak and host an inform Charlotte tonight with playoffs just about on every Piston fans thoughts. The Hornets have had a good couple of days beginning with a win against the Spurs. They are in the race with 5 other teams in the East for the third seed so a home playoff berth is the incentive to keep winning. They should really look to retire another jersey at half time which usually spurs the Pistons to get a win. Walker vs Jackson will be a good duel highlighting some of the most improved guards in the league.

Best Bet: Charlotte +12.5 @1.20

Feeling Lucky: Detroit WIN @1.71

Orlando @ Miami

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
11 Miami 99.4 98.2 +1.2
20 Orlando 100.8 103.3 -2.5

The Say

The Heat were humbled last out against the Spurs in Texas (which every team does) so get the beat up on their Florida sibling tonight. Dropping some close ones to fellow East competition in Toronto and Charlotte, they have dropped to the 5th seed which hurts our wishes of a Cleveland/Miami playoff showdown. The Magic are still missing Nikola Vucevic (GTD) and Ersan Ilaysova which really affects their chances in matching Miami in a shootout. The Heat to win.

Best Bet: Miami -4.5 @1.44

Feeling Lucky: Miami 7+ @1.60

Milwaukee @ Atlanta

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
7 Atlanta 102.8 99.1 +3.7
25 Milwaukee 99.1 102.8 -3.7

The Say

The general theme for the East leaders is to keep winning. Especially against the teams under you and with no incentive for the post season. This is one of those games for Atlanta. Don’t get us wrong, the Bucks on their night could really trouble any team with Giannis and Jabari running around but the well drilled Hawks have enough answers at both ends. Atlanta currently hold the 3rd seed in the East and need a win tonight to keep it.

Best Bet: Over 190.5 @1.20

Feeling Lucky: Atlanta 7+ @1.64

Toronto @ Houston

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
5 Toronto 102.7 98.2 +4.5
16 Houston 105.9 106.8 -0.9

The Say

Houston have lost 3 straight and it doesn’t get any easy for them facing the 2nd best team in the East. The Rockets are equal with Utah on record and are clinging ever so tightly to the final position in the West. Although, they would likely get swept in round 1 anyway. The Raptors have been talking about resting players down the stretch so check around game time for any last minute changes. With their position and playoff form non-existent, preserving their stars for a post season push would be a wise.

Best Bet: Toronto +10.5 @1.20

Feeling Lucky: Toronto WIN @1.81

Memphis @ San Antonio

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
18 Memphis 99.2 100.6 -1.4
1 San Antonio 104.4 92.2 +12.2

The Say

The Grizzlies (38-28) have suffered some injuries of late, having to play 27 players this year, more than any other team in 20 years. However, the return of Zach Randolph has really given them a boost, with a win over the Clippers a few days back being the most significant thing they’ve done over the last couple of weeks.

Memphis have secured a playoff spot, with a 41-31 record, and will be hoping to have Gasol, Randolph and Conley relatively healthy heading into the pointy end. Because of this they will lose.

Oh, and the Spurs (60–11,) haven’t lost at home this season (36-0), have the best +/- in the league at +12.2 (above the Warriors at 11.2), and are worth betting your house on at the AT&T Center.

Best Bet: San Antonio WIN @1.10

Feeling Lucky: San Antonio -12.5 @1.93

Phoenix @ Sacramento

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
28 Phoenix 100.5 107.6 -7.1
23 Sacramento 106.4 109.2 -2.8

The Say

This game is one to throw into the fire as a tipster. Sacramento play All-Star basketball both offensively and defensively, which has led to scoring frenzies in their games all year. Boogie is killing it averaging 27.1ppg and 11.6rpg, while Rondo is dishing out 11.7apg.

Last time these two faced off it was a 142-119 win to the Kings, and this time out a total points line at over 214.5 is looking mighty tasty.

Phoenix has won 5 of their last 10, only one to an above .500 team. Margins are the savior here.

Best Bet: Phoenix +10.5 or Over 214 @1.52

Feeling Lucky: Over 224 @2.36

Dallas @ Golden State

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
2 Golden State 115.3 104.1 +11.2
15 Dallas 102.9 103.4 -0.5

The Say

The old legs of Dallas travel to Splash City in what will be a game focused more on the season record than anything else at this point. The Warriors are sitting on 64-7, with only 2 more losses up their sleeve over the last 12 to surpass the 1995-96′ Bulls record of 72-10. Dallas have only scraped in 2 wins over their last 10 and don’t give us any reason to believe that they will get over the Warriors on their unbeaten home turf at Oracle Arena. NOTE: Dirk and Parsons have been listed as OUT.

Best Bet: Golden State 7+ @1.20

Feeling Lucky: No, just enjoy the Splash

Denver @ LA Lakers

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
22 Denver 102.3 104.9 -2.6
29 LA Lakers 98.0 106.7 -8.7

The Say

The Nuggets are generally our guaranteed margin tip on any given day, always in the game, but generally not worth a risk for the straight out win. That could well be the case here up against the young guns of LA. Kobe will likely sit this one out, he’ll be picking and choosing which ones to suit up for in the BS show that is the Kobe Farewell Tour. The Kobe persona was one that was built up over two decades, and to see him patting opponents on the ass while they drain threes in his face is kinda, well, disappointing. The sting is out of the Mamba, and we just wish he’d go out angry, not buddying up to every decent opponent in his curtain call.

In saying all of that, Lakers with a generous margin are looking the best bet. Barring a miracle, the Nuggets won’t make the playoffs, and are too far off a lottery pick, they likely won’t care either way.

Best Bet: Lakers +13.5 @1.22

Feeling Lucky: No way
