NBA betting tips basketball

This post is a little old, see tonight’s NBA parlay picks here.

Tonight’s Best Parlay:

The Midfield Parlay of the Day

Memphis WIN @1.52.

Oklahoma -10.5 @1.58.

Denver +10.5 @1.50.

New York +7.5 @1.44.

Tonight’s 5 games…

Detroit at New York

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
13 Detroit 101.1 99.9 +1.2
20 New York 97.7 99.6 -1.9

The Say:

Just a slip up in the East can really make an impact on the Standings. A week ago, the Pistons had strong wins against Indiana, Chicago, Miami and Boston but that all went pair shaped losing their last two. Drummond continues to grab every missed shot in sight as Detroit may get to see Jennings grace the court.

Melo and the Latvian sensation are trying to keep the Knicks afloat but are slowly slipping away from the competitive East. Could there be a trade on the way for New York to make that step up or will they settle for the lottery again? Playing at home will give the Knicks that little extra – expect a heap of threes to be put up.

Best Bet: New York +7.5 @1.44.

Atlanta at Houston

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
11 Atlanta 101.9 99.8 +2.1
18 Houston 103.7 105 -1.3

The Say:

Atlanta were in some good form before dropping one to Indiana yesterday. They have won 6 out of the last 7 but their barometer is Korver and when he has a bad night, the Hawks don’t have enough fire power to pull a winning score.

We can’t talk anymore about Houston and their form. Defeating the Spurs at home on Christmas Day to follow up with a loss to New Orleans the next day just doesn’t make too much sense. Apparently the Harden/Howard marriage went through some bonding last week but it all looks to have fallen on the way side again with Coach JB Bickerstaff (Son of Bernie) calling out some home truths.

The Rockets have ‘Deep and Meaningful’ discussions every week and it doesn’t help us at all for tipping a winner here.

Best Bet: Atlanta +8.5 @1.41 or stay away.

Miami at Memphis

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
9 Miami 96.9 94.8 +2.1
24 Memphis 96.4 99.7 -3.3

The Say:

Coming off an unexpected loss at home to the Nets, in which they gave away 27 second chance points, the Heat should be a little disappointed.

“Thirty games together. We ain’t figured it out yet,” Dwayne Wade (18.9 ppg, 4.5 apg, 3.8 rpg) said. “We haven’t played together long enough to figure it out. Either this is going to be our season like this, either we’re going to figure it out or we’re not.

They’re good, but not great, and the same goes for the Grizzlies who should be fresh after running around traffic cones in their previous game against the Lakers.

With a day’s rest and back at home, we’ll back the Grizzlies to cover a pretty conservative unders line. Not much more confident than that.

Best Bet: Memphis WIN @1.52.

Milwaukee at Oklahoma

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
27 Milwaukee 96.4 102.3 -5.9
3 Oklahoma 107.9 99.6 +8.3

The Say:

One team is on the up, and reminding us that there are actually more than the big 3 to worry about come Finals time, and the other is Milwaukee, not so much.

The Thunder may not get the kudos that the Spurs, Cavs and Warriors get, but they are right in the mix. Russell Westbrook (25.5 ppg, 9.4 apg, 6.9 rpg) and Kevin Durant (26.6 ppg, 4.9 apg, 7.7 rpg) are probably the best duo to watch in the league. The Bucks will struggle with the transition game of the Thunder, and will not keep a single digit line in check away at OKC, who’ve had the day’s break.

Best Bet: Oklahoma -10.5 @1.58.

Cleveland at Denver

Points +/- Rank

RK TEAM OWN OPP DIFF
4 Cleveland 99.9 95.3 +4.6
26 Denver 99.2 103.9 -4.7

The Say:

The Cavs managed to splutter out a 101-97 win over Phoenix last night, after two straight losses (Portland, Golden State). In the second back-back of a 5 day stretch, the Cavs are most likely a little beat down, and will be without Kyrie Irving, as he sits as part of his comeback/recovery from a knee injury.

“It is a great feeling having the kid back,” Lebron James said. “He does so much for our team.”

Up in the high altitude of Denver, the line for the Nuggets looks like a pretty good deal to us, against a Cavs team that will likely win, but not by  hell of a lot. We’ll play it cautious and go a few points ahead of the +7 line that’s offered, just in case JR Smith (10.7 ppg) finds his range on his old playground.

Best Bet: Denver +10.5 @1.50.
