Tonight’s 10 NBA Games
Detroit @ Charlotte
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
11 | Detroit | 101.7 | 100.5 | +1.2 |
9 | Charlotte | 102.7 | 100.7 | +2.0 |
The Say
Its hard to pick against a team in this type of form. After winning 5 straight and playing at home, the Hornets have snuck into 5th place in the East. The Pistons themselves are playing well to get them 0.5 games ahead of the Bulls to hold 8th spot. The home team is the obvious choice but Detroit will keep it close.
Best Bet: Detroit +12.5 @1.26
Feeling Lucky: Charlotte -3.5 @1.76
Brooklyn @ Philadelphia
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
27 | Brooklyn | 97.8 | 104.3 | -6.5 |
30 | Philadelphia | 96.7 | 107.3 | -10.6 |
The Say
There is no best bet or feeling lucky pick here. Okafor is out and the 76ers look more like the team they rolled with last season. Brooklyn do have the two better players on the court which puts them ahead. Furthermore, Philly have lost 13 straight. Boston fans will be hoping for a win for Philly.
Best Bet: Brooklyn WIN @1.59
Feeling Lucky: Go with the Best Bet
Houston @ Boston
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
18 | Houston | 105.8 | 106.9 | -1.1 |
7 | Boston | 106.2 | 101.9 | +4.3 |
The Say
With the cross conference games held to only 2 games, there are some surprises in results. We saw the Rockets were able to beat Toronto and there is no reason they can’t do the same in Boston. But our number one rule is to not gamble on the Rockets as they are more likely to self-implode than steal another win on the road. Up to you here. Boston at home sounds good but against Harden doesn’t make it an easy choice.
Best Bet: Houston +14 @1.26
Feeling Lucky: Over 217.5 @1.50
Miami @ Chicago
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
12 | Miami | 98.1 | 97.2 | +0.9 |
17 | Chicago | 101.6 | 102.6 | -1.0 |
The Say
Butler is being held out with his knee issues which doesn’t help the Bulls sitting in 9th spot. The Heat have been playing well since the break but as usual falter on the road, like their last against Milwaukee. This match-up gives us nothing. The Bulls did keep it close with the Spurs last night but is it enough to be confident they can back it up at home? And will the real Miami Heat show up?
Best Bet: Chicago +9.5 @1.40
Feeling Lucky: Miami WIN @1.59
New Orleans @ Memphis
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
24 | New Orleans | 102.7 | 105.8 | -3.1 |
16 | Memphis | 99.1 | 99.8 | -0.7 |
The Say
Who knows which lineup Memphis will throw out tonight? Chalmers is gone, Zach and Conley are up in the air and Gasol is most likely out for the year. New Orleans come into town with similar injury issues which doesn’t help us. If it isn’t an upset, it will at least be close.
Best Bet: Over 194.5 @1.33
Feeling Lucky: New Orleans @1.61
Minnesota @ Oklahoma
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
26 | Minnesota | 101.4 | 105.7 | -4.3 |
3 | Oklahoma | 110.1 | 103.3 | +6.8 |
The Say
Let’s not waste any time, Thunder win.
Best Bet: Oklahoma -4.5 @1.28
Feeling Lucky: Oklahoma -7.5 @1.44
Washington @ Utah
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
20 | Washington | 102.7 | 104.5 | -1.8 |
14 | Utah | 97.6 | 97.4 | +0.2 |
The Say
The Jazz are the Bizzaro version of Sacramento, great on defense and horrible on offense. Jalen and Jacoby brought up on their latest Podcast the fact that the Jazz are basically cannon fodder should they reach the finals due to their limited top-end talent, and lack of All-Star material. If you don’t already listen to these guys, get on it.
The Jazz have scraped 2 wins from their last 10 games, while Portland have lost their last 3, all to above .500 teams. Utah are tired, and when you find yourself relying on your defense night in and night out, without any discernible offensive presence, there really are no games where you can just catch fire and get the W.
This game is a toss up, but with Washington having the day’s break, we think they will have the energy, and send Jazz back to the whiteboard.
Best Bet: Washington +10.5 @1.53
Feeling Lucky: Washington WIN @2.77 (liking this)
Orlando @ Sacramento
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
19 | Orlando | 100.8 | 102.5 | -1.7 |
23 | Sacramento | 107.0 | 109.6 | -2.6 |
The Say
We say it every night, and they do it every night, All-Star offense and defense in Sac Town. Both team have stumbled their way to 3 wins out of their last 10 outings, with the Magic suffering the worst, a 107-98 loss to the Lakers. This game is one to stay away from as a punter, unless you like to regret clicking “SUBMIT’ on your betting slip.
Steer clear…but seeing as though this post is about tipping, here we go…
Best Bet: Sacramento +4.5 @1.45
Feeling Lucky: No chance, go outside for a brisk walk.
Portland @ Golden State
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
12 | Portland | 103.8 | 102.9 | +0.9 |
2 | Golden State | 115.1 | 104.3 | +10.8 |
The Say
Lillard and McCollum take the journey to Splash City, in what should be a fun game to watch. Golden State are genuinely locked in on the Bulls record of 72-10 season wins, which could add that extra 3-4% of intensity to their game. This spells trouble for every team they face until that 73 wins is reached. Curry’s ankle will continue to be monitored following his stumble a week or so ago. Portland have lost 3 of the last 4, all to above .500 teams, so don’t go too much into that.
Golden State do have troubles defending teams who aggressively, and consistently drive to the rim, if Lillard and McCollum can penetrate enough, they may cover the line. Golden State will get the W here, however picking a worthwhile tip is another story…
Best Bet: Portland +18.5 @1.32
Feeling Lucky: Klay Thompson Under 30.5 @1.83
New York @ LA Clippers
Points +/- Rank
RK | TEAM | OWN | OPP | DIFF |
21 | New York | 99.3 | 101.6 | -2.3 |
5 | LA Clippers | 104.9 | 100.5 | +4.4 |
The Say
If there was a reason to back the Knicks at Staples tonight, we haven’t found it. The Clips have won the last 5 match-ups, the last one being a 116-88 smashing back in February. We’d love to carry on, but we would be wasting our time. Take the Clippers here @1.18 and be done with it. If you want to make a game of it, take a shot every time they mention Blake Griffin’s name during the broadcast.
